Jinjja Kitchen
Sprung from the loins of decade-old regional faux Korean fried chicken chain Jinjja Chicken (spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, its provenance being the little red dot though - or smack dab speaking, Bugis Village, while both founders Bernard Tay and Stanley Lim can't get any truer than Arctic blue Singaporean), Jinjja Kitchen first teed up October 2023, by dint of an ongoing JC stronghold within Changi Airport Terminal 2 which went almost lock, stock, barrel under a contemporizing scalpel. Two more stores then emerged this year, at Our Tampines Hub (March) and Jurong Point (September).
Phalanx of obligatory fried chicken choices inhabiting Jinjja Kitchen's menu aside, diners may also slink into K-pizzas, K-pastas, jjigae, perhaps some ramyeon/rabokki.
What knocked our socks off:
The Jinjja Wings (we picked honey butter soy flavourwise) were so devastatingly good, they could just as soon imperil our all along unswerving fealty to Wingstop. Giga crunchy, fender tender, not least artlessly alliaceous-sweet, there's virtually no stopping once started. Bonus tip: welter them in a truffle mayo dip (additional $2), you'll be full-blown trippin' for sure.
Jinjja Wings (6pcs-$8.90, 12pcs-$16.90, 18 pcs-$21.90)
The Korean Chicken Pizza never came close to manufacturing that earlier coma-inducing satisfaction once again, still it made lovely sense. Marinated chicken, shiitake, leek, etc abundantly disseminated across chewy, mozzarella-prefaced sourdough topography and shored up altogether by a basil cream + gochujang + God-knows-else Heinz 57 sorta sauce.....now, who remains unmoved?
Korean Chicken Pizza ($13.90)
Other item(s) sampled but turned out to be non-event(s):
Rabokki ($10.90)
Black Pepper & Mustard K-Corndog ($3.90)
