A subsidiary of EN Group which oversees brands including Aburi-EN, Rakuen and Yakichi, Tamago-EN is eccentrically egg-centric, relying very much on eggs imported direct from Okinawa (they being reputedly so fresh eating them raw ain't no biggie) to add heft to various rice/noodle dishes sold. Even elaborate, glitzy furbelows of chicken embryology fanatically adorn its restaurants' interiors, whilst plush, deep yolk-colored booth seats beckon enticingly. Talk about crafting a different dining "eggmosphere".

An extensive in-house menu made available will have patrons spoilt for choice: sandwiches, salads, omurice, donburis, desserts. Established since July 2019, Tamago-EN presently operates outlets across Singapore as well as Hong Kong (Yuen Long, Mong Kok and North Point).

Tamago-EN @ Tampines Mall

What knocked our socks off:

Wicked was the Chicken Stew Rice With Omelette - vociferous, fluffy whirlwind of scrambled goog ringfenced by aromatic sticky grains in one killer slumgullion got us swooning start till finish. The Ebi Don delighted too, particularly those ginormous breaded shrimps that commingled succulent and divinely friable.

Chicken Stew Rice With Omelette ($13.80)

Ebi Don ($13.80)

What didn't work out:

We almost felt inclined to declare the contrived Prawn And Mentai Cream Pasta irredeemably awful - limp spaghetti strands flailing in curdled B├ęchamel sauce and narked by tasteless, gloopy pollock roe.......then again at least 'em prawns were adequately crunchy. :P

Prawn And Mentai Cream Pasta ($14.80)

Other items sampled but turned out to be non-events:

Black Sesame Panna Cotta ($5.80) And Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake ($6.80)
