An epicureanistic corollary to its 3-year-old burgeoning Cantonese tour de force of a near identical name, Jia He Grand Chinese Restaurant officially unfurled at One Farrer Hotel on 16 November. While the original Jia He favoured treading mainstream waters with dashes of populist chutzpah thrown into the cookery, intrepid inventiveness assumes antecedence here; iconoclastic creations (possibly bordering on garish) therefore await diners - these including, among many others, the following:

Jia He Grand's equally lucullan dim sum range is to die for as well, given exquisitely handcrafted bonne bouches like crispy-baked savoury pork "mangosteen" dumplings, Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao, char siew pastries, baked creamy custard buns etc imploring those in attendance to stuff their faces silly and then some.

Occupying prime real estate right beside the hotel lobby previously leased by Les Amis Group's Socieaty, Jia He Grand boasts cavernous, egalitarian yet tastefully conceived interiors mired in unencumbered natural lighting, genteel 428 dove-encrusted chandelier (supposedly exemplifying peace and harmony) hanging overhead. The restaurant itself seats 230 or around 22 tables of 10, with 5 private dining rooms that can be repurposed to suit a cornucopia of event requirements.
